Women's Soccer Hub

Mallory Klenda

June 18–24, Days 20–26

📊✨ Spent the week tweaking the app based on usage data:

Feature Reorganization: Reorganized key features by how often they're used for better user flow

Community Engagement: Added "like" capabilities to boost community interaction

UI Polish: Refined interactions and micro-animations throughout the app

Final Prep: Now finalizing everything in preparation for project submission

It's been an incredible journey building Offsides from concept to a fully functional women's soccer hub! 🚀⚽

June 17, Day 19

👩‍💻📝 Took on a one-prompt challenge and spun up an Admin App for the Offsides News Feed:

Edit News Stories: Title, subtitle, and link fields powered by AI-generated content

Auth & DB: Magic-link login hooked up and connected to my real newsstories table

Production-Ready Vibes: Nearly there—just a few UI tweaks and validation checks left

Seriously impressive for a single Bolt prompt—definitely a fun proof of concept!

June 16, Day 18

🐞📱 Squashed a handful of small bugs in the Pick the Score game and polished the mobile view:

Fixed edge cases: Scoring logic so streaks and points always tally correctly

Improved responsive layouts: Better touch targets for phones and tablets

June 10, Day 12

🕹️🏆 Today I launched the full "Pick the Score" prediction game with smart scoring and competitive features:

Smart Scoring: 5 pts for exact scorelines, 3 pts for correct winners

Leaderboard: Live seasonal & league-based rankings so you can see where you stack up

Streak Tracking: Track your accuracy, winning streaks, and overall rank in your profile

Games Feedback: Added a "Provide games feedback" link/form to gather fan input on Fan Games

This is the first weekend of games and I will ask friends & family to help test!

June 9, Day 11

📴 No update today!

June 8, Day 10

🛠️⏱️ Small but impactful tweaks today:

Tunnel Fits: Added a team filter so fans can browse looks by their favorite club

Standings Table: Displaying a "Last updated at" timestamp so everyone knows how fresh the data is

Bolt came through again with quick UI enhancements to make these updates seamless.

Tunnel Fits Team Filter Interface

June 7, Day 9

🌴 Rest day for family fun!

June 6, Day 8

🛡️🔑 Today I unlocked profile & login with magic-link, passwordless auth—no more passwords, just one tap to enter Offsides.

Voting for Tunnel Fits isn't fully live yet, but with authentication in place we can build out game tracking, leaderboards, and deeper fan engagement.

Bolt also helped me integrate Google Analytics to track user behavior and measure engagement across the site.

June 5, Day 7

🌍📖 Today I launched a brand-new "Learn" page—WoSo Around The World—to showcase top women's soccer leagues across the globe. Key highlights:

Regional Filter: Users can toggle between All Regions, Europe, North America, and Asia to drill into specific leagues.

League Rankings: Each league card displays its rank, country flag, and most recent champion (e.g., Chelsea FC Women for the WSL, Orlando Pride for the NWSL).

Detailed Modals: Clicking a league opens a modal with quick facts—founding year, number of teams, global ranking, and league history bullet points.

This new section gives fans a quick way to explore WoSo's biggest competitions and dive deeper into each league's story.

June 4, Day 6

🌴 Rest Day! Back tomorrow with more updates. 🎮

June 3, Day 5

🎨⚽ Today Bolt helped me role out 3 new updates:

• Flip Timezones in Match Hub: Fans can now toggle match times to their local zone. In the future, I want to update this to be smarter and read from the browser settings as default.

• Beta Banner: A sleek banner now flags that our game data is in beta, so users know we are adding scores and standings later.

• League Notifications: Added a sign-up so users can be pinged when we launch new leagues (for now, it's NWSL only).

I also worked with ChatGPT to craft a logo for Offsides—🎨🚀 and dropped it on the site:

New Offsides Logo

Unfortunately, I tried to film a Loom walkthrough for the hackathon docuseries… only to discover most of my hour-long session was not there when I stopped recording. My shot at fame foiled by pressing "pause" at the wrong spots! I'll give it another go soon.

Fan Zone Interface Updates

June 2, Day 4

🌐🚀 I've published the website: offsideszone.com! I'm still double-checking match data. Some results are missing since I used AI to populate them, but I'm excited to gather feedback on the content. Next up: adding user accounts so fans can play games, favorite their teams, and like Tunnel Fits. Check it out and let me know what you think!

June 1, Day 3

🤖📰 Day 3 Update! Today I plugged in real data for WoSo Buzz and Tunnel Fits: AI-generated news stories and fashion posts are live on the homepage.

Upcoming Matches: live NWSL schedule
WoSo Buzz: genuine, AI-curated articles
Featured Fits: real player style posts

Next Up: Building the Fan Games section with trivia, polls, and more. 🎮

Once I have fan games working, I'll publish the site to start getting real feedback! 🚀

WoSo Buzz and Featured Fits

May 31, Day 2

⚽🔥 Day 2 Update: Today I used Bolt to supercharge Offsides: I integrated upcoming NWSL matches, hooked up a live standings table, and even added a fresh round of Tunnel Fits fashion posts for the league.

Tomorrow I'm shifting my focus to WoSo Buzz: planning to wire in fun, bite-sized news stories so fans can stay in the loop on all things women's soccer.

Game on... and also, KC Baby - number 1 in the standings! 🩵❤️🎉

NWSL Standings Table

May 30, Day 1

⚽🚀 Kickoff time! Spent today using AI to brainstorm and landed on a WoSo (women's soccer) app because I love soccer and women's sports are absolutely having a moment right now. As a fan, I want a space that's bold, sporty, global, and full of personality.

Tonight I built out the front-end UI as a solid starting point. I leaned on ChatGPT to help brainstorm color palettes and ended up with a fresh green & navy combo, plus a pop of fun purple. I've sketched out a vision the next few days. Next up is hooking up the backend so we actually have real data powering everything. Game on... and also, KC Baby! 🩵❤️🎉
